Most of us are aware of how animal rights groups use a sort of code to get their message across. It’s generally unrecognizable unless you have been reading their righting for some time. When you get the hang of it, the code will scare the heck out of you.
Here’s a very good example. HSUS has a “scorecard” that they keep on government officials. It’s done in a program called Excel. Excel is a really fun program to play with and I’ve been teaching it to myself for years. It can be extremely complicated and is the basis of most internet programs. Back to my point, the code is simple when you change the formatting of your words. Like this is printed in Aharoni and this is printed in Calibri. Really cool to make certain points jump out on a paper.
But look when it’s used as indirect threats.
This is a sample from my Excel sheet that I made to look exactly like that of HSUS Scorecard.
The Check marks mean that those Representatives agree with HSUS’s agenda. The SP stands for a Primary Sponsor of a HSUS promoted Bill to Congress. Those check marks can only be made in the Excel program if the formatting is changed from a “text” to a “symbol”. The symbol code for a check mark is called “wingdings”.
Now look at what a check mark is in a normal text version.
If you look at the symbols closely, You can see exactly what they mean. A check mark is a smiley face, NV stands for No Vote which has a very clear symbol (I’ll let you figure that one out on your own. If you really knew, you’d be as scared as I am), The capital X—notice where you’ve seen that symbol before?!, The SP—crying happy tears and “you’re a winner”. I could go on but I think you get the point.
It’s fun to play with the Excel program. Try it for yourself. It’s simply unbelievable!
