Anyone wonder why the previous USDA APHIS Enforcement Officer, Deborah Dubow Press (who has NO BACKGROUND IN THE VETERINARY FIELD), was invited to the Federal Trade Commission meeting concerning pet medications?
Deborah Dubow Press has friends in them thar hills!
Federal Trade Commission Chairman Jon Leibowitz appointed six senior staff members on April 14, 2009. Included among those six was David Vladeck, Director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. The FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection’s mandate is to protect consumers against unfair, deceptive or fraudulent practices.
Mr. Vladeck has been very vocal in the animal rights groups.
On Nov 29, 2011 The Humane society of the United States filed a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission concerning false advertising on fur products. Mr. Vladeck’s office was the government office to investigate this complaint. On 08/06/2013 FTC Approves Final Orders Settling Charges Against Retailers Accused of Marketing Real Fur Products as Fake Fur. On the flip side of the coin, are you still receiving those telemarketing calls from Animal Rights groups, Political Associations, and Insurance Companies? Good luck getting anything done about that unless you have a friend that works with an animal rights group like HSUS.
Mr. David Vladeck has been a prominent professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center. Missing from his resume that is listed on the FTC website is interests in animal rights law. On March 27, 2009, Professor David Vladeck spoke at Georgetown University at 10:00 AM “Administrative Agencies’ Roles and Animal Law: Interpretation and enforcement of animal law, Limits on the regulatory process, and Creating effective enforcement schemes.” But, Mr. Vladeck didn’t speak alone. No sir. All his friends were present and speaking right along with him. Those included: Rebecca Judd, HSUS, Connie Harriman-Whitfield, Humane Society Legislative Fund (an HSUS company), and Bernadette Juarez USDA (Deborah Dubow Press’ BOSS).
Are we still wondering why Deborah Dubow Press was invited to the Federal Trade Commission’s meeting about Pet Medications?
Well, OK. If you insist. President Obama announced the nomination of Ms. Ramona E. Romero to serve as General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Ms. Romero is currently Corporate Counsel for E. I. Du Pont de Nemours & Company (DuPont). This means that Ms. Romero is THE MOST SENIOR LAWYER TO TOM VILSACK, THE USDA SECRETARY.
The 1991 formation of the DuPont Merck Pharmaceutical Company, a joint venture with prescription drug giant Merck and Company, made DuPont a competitive force in the field of life sciences. Merck is the end all of end all when it comes to Pet Medications and the Veterinarian Field.
