Where, Oh Where, Does that Money Go?!

The national average wage index for 2011 was 42,979.61.  Adjusted gross income reported on tax returns in 2006 averaged $58,029.  Poverty level in the United States is around $10,000.00.  These levels would reference people working a regular 9-5 job and in the  national employment market.  Now think about what it would be like to bring in a $100,000.00 if your average yearly pay is about $50 Grand.  Sounds nice!  Lots of extra vacations to far away places.

Most people can’t understand the significance of a billion dollars, let alone a trillion.  The number is so far fetched that it seems like it doesn’t even exist.

  • There are Ten $100,000 dollar bills in a Million Dollars.
  • There are Ten THOUSAND 100,000 dollar bills in a Billion Dollars or 1 Million 1,000 Dollar Bills in a Billion Dollars.
  • There are Ten Million 100,000 dollar bills in a Trillion Dollars or 1 Billion 1,000 Dollar Bills in a Trillion Dollars.

AS of 8/30/2013, the United States National PUBLIC debt was $16,738,649,841,392.70.  That’s almost 17 Trillion Dollars.

Let’s put that in perspective.  17 Trillion dollars would provide 170 Million people an average income of $100,000.00 per year.  To make it fair, the National Debt would provide everyone in the United States $50,000.00 per year.

Could someone please remind me what those taxes are doing for every single US Citizen that costs $50,000.00 per year?
